American Idol

Can I just say I am shocked, shocked that Kris Allen pulled it off. I love it when the underdog wins.

Two Months!

Andrew was two months old on Saturday.

He's such a cutie these days! He's smiling all the time. And he coos at us when he's happy about something, or when he's about to cry. And sometimes he smiles while he's fussing which just breaks my heart. It's like he can't decided if he should break down and cry or give up and be happy instead.

I love this picture. I think he might actually look like me a bit. Up until now I've really only been able to see Brian.

He realized he was wearing these funny socks and wouldn't stop looking at them.

It's so hard to capture his smile on camera. It comes and goes pretty quickly and our camera is kind of slow. But I got it here!

Andrew's two month appointment was Monday. He's up to 10 lbs 6 oz and 22 1/4 inches. He's in the 30% percentile so he's a little on the small side, but I'm sure he'll catch up. Our pediatrician wasn't worried, and I'm not either. He's reached all his milestones and did really well at his appointment.

He usually sleeps in one 4 hour block at night and then is up every 2 hours after that. He'd been going to sleep between 9 and 10, but just this week he's been getting sleepy earlier. In fact, yesterday, he went to sleep at 7:30 and slept for 6 hours in a row! So I now know it's possible. And if I went to bed at 7:30 in the evening I could sleep for 6 straight hours too. :)

I'm loving being Andrew's mom and feel so grateful that he's such a happy, healthy baby.

Busy Busy

We've been so busy lately. Andrew and I still aren't getting out too much, but we're doing more and more now that he's a little more predictable.

My cousin Katie got married at my parents' house two weeks ago. Brian took a day off of work and we spent the long weekend out at the lake. Katie looked beautiful, and she and her boys were so happy. It was a great party!

Andrew attended his first wedding. He slept through the whole thing in his sling though so I'm not really sure if it counts.

Kelsey turned 26 yesterday. Our family celebrated on Saturday night with dinner at Terelli's and Society Bakery cupcakes. Andrew went to his first restaurant, but he did not sleep through it at all so it counts for sure. He was pretty good though considering we were out way past his bedtime.

I don't have much of a birthday pic of Kels, but here she is with Matt opening her presents.

Andrew has just been full of smiles lately, but they're hard to get on camera. I don't ever have it out at the right time.

I got closer here, but I cut off the top of his head. I really need to work on my photography skills or we're only going to have partial pictures of Andrew. Thankfully Brian is much better than I am, so I'll just have to pass the camera to him when he's around.

This picture cracks me up. Fenway is so interested in the baby, and he's been really good with him. I was down on the floor reading a book to Andrew and Fenway wanted to listen too. As you can see they were both fascinated by Fifteen Animals.

We hit a big milestone today. Andrew was doing tummy time in the den this afternoon and rolled from his tummy to his back! I was so proud. I tried to get him to do it again, but he was worn out, and wasn't happy when I put him back on his belly.

I have joined the masses and started the 30 Day Shred. I swear Jillian Michaels is trying to kill me, but I have to do something to get rid of the rest of this baby weight. I was so exhausted the first day it was literally hard for me to hold my arms up to type an email. But I'm getting better, and I'm sure I'll be all shredded in no time. Ha!
